Itsy Bitsy Spider

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.

Down came the rain and washed the spider out.

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.

And the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again!

I made this activity to coordinate:

The spider can then crawl up and down the water spout. The kids LOVED it and kept repeating it over and over!

Simple directions:

Get a styrofoam cup. Put it upside-down and poke a small hole in the bottom. Cut a string (I used yarn) long enough to form a loop–going along the inside and outside of the cup (see pictures below). Tie to form a loop. Cut out a spider and glue onto the string. Allow the kids to decorate their cups to coordinate with the poem. Play!

If you have any questions, please ask! I don’t know how well I explained this…
