Previously, I showed you how to make a butterfly out of a coffee filter. It would also be fun to make a caterpillar, as you learn about the lifecycle of a caterpillar. These ones are so simple, and yet so fun (not to mention, adorable)!
Supplies:
egg carton–cardboard ones work better than styrofoam
paint
googly eyes
pipe cleaners
Activity:
1. Cut the egg carton. I just cut enough for each child to have a row so their caterpillars are 6 long. You could also make them shorter.
2. Let your children paint them however they want. We used 6 different colors on ours, but one color would also be cute!
3. Attach the googly eyes. You can do this while the paint is wet, or let it dry and then glue the eyes on.
4. Poke holes in the top and stick your pipe cleaners in. My son curled the edges of his a bit. Cute!
5. Tada! All done!
