This is my post that seems to be your favorite! It is my top post of all-time so I just have to share it this month. People also seem to like it for Thanksgiving. Enjoy!
So, I’ve revamped the original recipe a bit. It just made way too much. Perfect for a classroom setting, but not for 2 children (if you’re wanting more though, please see the original). Here is my new and improved Pumpkin Pie Playdough recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup flour (if it’s too runny, add a bit more)
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup water
orange food coloring (2 parts yellow, 1 part red)
Procedure:
Dump it all in the pot. Add the food coloring until it’s the color you want. Cook and stir constantly over medium heat until a large ball forms (there will be lumps). Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Let cool. Give to your children to play with, telling them not to eat it, although it smells so yummy!
Store in an airtight container (I use Ziplock bags).
**The picture above gives you an idea of how much it made.
We made this again a few weeks ago and are enjoying it! Smells good enough to eat.
