Natalie, from Utah Valley Family Adventures, is here as my guest today sharing a fun holiday tradition! Natalie is an amazing mother, always striving to make memories with her family. On her blog, she reviews different activities her family has done around Utah. She shares great ideas and gives honest feedback, which I love. Be sure to look in her archives for Christmas ideas, like where to go to cut your own Christmas tree and cool places to see Christmas lights. This is a blog you’ll want to bookmark and come back to visit often.
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is to wrap all of our Christmas books up and place them under the tree. Each night, we open one book and read it as a family. I pack away our Christmas books with our decorations every year, so my boys love to unwrap a favorite book that they remember from the previous year. It has become a fun tradition to help us countdown to Christmas. We have so many books now that I pick and choose through the huge pile, and I sometimes wrap two at a time. This year I numbered the books for each day of December because then I can plan to read certain books on special days like Christmas Eve or Sundays. After we open the books, we place them in a basket near the tree and then we can read those unwrapped books whenever we want. Some of our favorite Christmas books are How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Reindeer Christmas, The Night Before Christmas (I think we have 4 different versions), Mooseltoe, and The Christmas Crocodile.
What a fun tradition! Thanx, Natalie!
