Borders Book Challenge: Read and Get a FREE Book!

How cool is this challenge?! Your child (12 and under) reads 10 books, writes them down, brings the form into Borders, and they get a FREE book!!! LOVE it for the summer! Go here  and here for more details! I believe this is nationwide so check your local Borders Bookstore.

Local Readers: I called our local store (for me, the closest is located in Provo at Shops at the Riverwoods–the place my husband and I went on one of our first dates) and talked with the manager about this. She said they can read any type of book–based on their reading level. She also told me that my 4-year-old could participate (we just record the books I read TO her!). She did say the books go fast so it’s better to do the challenge earlier in the summer. And they have flyers at their store, or you can print one off from the links I provided above.

She also told me they’re doing a Thursday storytime at 12:30. The Wynnsong Theaters do a movie showing at 10 AM, and then Borders is going to do storytime based on that same movie (crafts, snacks, etc). Love that it coordinates. We may look into this! 🙂

She also said they do a Monday Night Family Movie Night–free complete with popcorn! I’m not sure on any of the times on these, but she said they’d have flyers by today.

What a great way to motivate your children to read and have fun during these summer months! I’m really excited about all of this! 🙂
