Ideas for Gardening With Kids

It’s that time of year again: garden season! It’s a family affair over here! My kids look forward to it every year. They love planting the flowers, which has immediate rewards. But their all-time favorites are the fruits and veggies. The rewards are delayed, but all the work is so worth it! They love going into the garden mid-summer and picking a fresh, warm strawberry to eat. We enjoy experimenting with different seeds and seeing what works or doesn’t work every year.

Gardening with young children can be hard. Go here for ideas I shared a couple of years ago on the benefits, as well as tips for including your children in gardening.

Do you garden? Do you let your children help? Any tips?

For more fun:  We’re making a sunflower house this year. And I love this idea for planting a rainbow in your garden. (both based on books!)

PS  I love this picture from 2 years ago! My kids were so little! 🙂
