Counting with Lily Pads

This is a great game to work on number recognition while having fun as frogs!

Cut some lily pads out of green paper (or foam sheets for more durability). Write a number on each one (I did 1-10), then lay on the ground. I put tape on the back of mine and placed mine in numerical order. You’ll also need to place them far enough that the kids can jump but also close enough that it’s not too far. Have your children pretend to be frogs and jump from lily pad to lily pad in order while saying the numbers. (I had to teach my preschoolers how frogs jump and show them how to do it–great exercise!)

(you could also do this with letters, of course!)
