Dramatic Play: Halloween Store

This was totally my kids doing. I love how creative kids can be! It always amazes me!

Here’s what they did: Each child set up a table with a Halloween tablecloth and put Halloween-type objects on their table (pumpkins, Halloween pictures they had colored, trick-or-treat bags, bits of Halloween costumes, etc). They then had my husband and me come shopping to buy Halloween things. The play progressed as they both put on costumes, my son made a sign for his store, my son added caution cones and became a “scary” Halloween monster as we entered, my daughter started selling invisible ghosts and skeletons on the ceiling, etc. It was so fun, and they only stopped when we had to leave the house. What a fun dramatic play center for you teachers, or a fun Halloween activity for a rainy (or snowy!) afternoon for you moms!
