Farm Mini Shape Book

I love to make mini shape books with my kids. They are so easy to throw into a writing center and are very versatile for all levels. When I taught school, I always had these available for each unit we did.

For the farm unit, I drew a simple barn shape and stapled 3-4 papers together. The kids can then decorate their barn and then write a farm story.

I usually put blank paper in my books so there are no restrictions. Younger children can draw pictures. Many children will combine the written word and pictures. And some will use words only. I had a little girl one year who cut out the door to her barn so it flipped open like a flap. Adorable! 🙂
