Santa’s Workshop

This one was inspired by my kids and their friends yesterday afternoon! They are so creative and spent hours yesterday doing this over and over!

We set up our Christmas tree earlier this week, but I have been so busy that I have not had time to wrap any presents to put under the tree. So, the kids took it upon themselves to do it! They have been wrapping “presents” (or toys from their rooms) and secretly putting them under the tree when I’m not looking. Each present is labeled with a name of a family member. And we all get excited when we “discover” the presents and get to open them!!

So, if I were doing this as an organized activity, here’s what I would do:

1. Provide some kind of paper for wrapping. You could use paper from your scrapbox, construction paper, scraps of wrapping paper, or blank paper. My kids used blank paper and made designs on them.

2. Of course they’ll need scissors and tape. Pencils or crayons would also be good.

3. It would be fun to set up a long table and chairs for a workbench, and possibly provide toy tools for building the toys, if that’s what they wanted to do.

4. You’ll also need toys or items for wrapping.

5. I would definitely provide Santa hats or elf hats to add to the effect.

Wish I had a picture, but there are times when you just can’t…

Here’s another Santa’s Workshop that is adorable made from a refrigerator box!
