Background:
Pilgrim children spent most of their days working, but they were able to fit in a little bit of time to play. They didn’t have vide games or board games like we do. They didn’t have TV or computers. They couldn’t go to the store to buy things to do. They played with what they had lying around. Today, we’re going to play a game with a can and some corn.
Activity:
There are a couple of ways you can play this game, and of course, it’s always fun to have the kids make up their own versions. I will share two ideas.
1. Have each child take 6 pieces of dry corn. Put the can in the middle and have them sit a bit aways from it. Have each child take turns trying to toss their corn into the can. Whoever gets the most in the can, wins!

2. Have each child take a small handful of corn. Once again, put the can in the middle and have them sit away from it. Simultaneously, have the children try to toss their corn into the can one piece at a time.
Both versions are fun!
